Guides-on-line is an international team of mountain guides on the web, a "web-team". Each of these guides has his own e-mail and most of them have a website, and guides-on-line.com is an access to their programs and services. It aims also to be a network of guides, and a source of informations. Guides-on-line starts as a small group of friends, and wishes to extend as a team of mountain guides with a common spirit about mountaineering.

UIAGM

The UIAGM has been created in 1965 in Zermatt (Switzerland) by representatives of the mountain guides associations from Italy, France, Austria and Switzerland, who decided to lay the foundations for an international federation of all mountain guides associations (IFMGA in english, IVBV in german).
The purpose of the association is to facilitate the practice of the mountain guide occupation abroad through international recognition, to promote uniform training and guiding standards, and to strengthen relations between the guiding associations and the guides worldwide.
The UIAGM issues a common international document of identification.
More than 15 countries are now represented in the UIAGM, and a few more are condidates, working on the recognition of their training standards. This whole community is made of more than 6000 guides.
